Look for a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) outlet and push the reset button. If it doesn’t fix it there might be a water or an electrical problem.
Filters should be changed every 3 to 4 weeks depending of use. Some filters are good for up to 90 days but still they can get dirty in just a few weeks.
If it doesn't make any sound, check a reset switch located under the disposal. If there is noise, it’s probably stuck and it can be fixed using an Allen wrench. First UNPLUG your garbage disposal, then, on the bottom, in the middle of the unit there is a hole, insert the wrench and work it back and forth. This should loosen up the jam. IMPORTANT: never put your hands inside the unit if it’s not unplugged.
Check the filter and replace it if dirty.
Check if your water heater pilot is lighting up.
Service your air conditioning at least once a year to get the maximum efficiency out of it, check doors and windows sealing around the house, and keep your blinds shut during hot days.
